An old collection of Oriental and European art, which comes from an antique shop in Zurich, will be auctioned on December 16 (lots 1150 to 1481). The collection consists of interesting works of Asian art as Burmese, Thai, Japanese and especially Chinese. From an extensive collection of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, many of them monumentales-, lacquered and gilded wood or bronze high quality to a wide range of different types of porcelain (vases, bowls, plates, figures "China White" etc). Special mention must cloissoné couple of large vases (lot 1291), Tibetan thangkas, Indian, Chinese and Japanese paintings or furniture, highlighting the important Chinese couple chairs or Filipino nineteenth century with pearl and marble (lot 1267) or Japanese comfortable "Tansu sedai" Meiji period (lots 1198-1200-1352)
On the other hand, the collection also includes works of European art (painting, decorative arts and furniture) from different eras. Highlights include numerous works of art nouveau and Empire style as the great Russian cabinet in mahogany palm (lot 1283) or the French "winged Victories" bluing bronze and marble (lot 1330). Special mention must Neapolitan gouaches (lots 1398 and 1399), the pair of German comfortable (lot 1333) or drawings and engravings of Swiss artist Franz Anatol Wyss.
